A fourth generation native San Franciscan, Christine Hughes holds a Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco College for Women. Her career spans over 25 years of executive level marketing and communications positions including Sr. VP Worldwide Marketing for Novell, and VP Marketing for Xerox U.S. Operations. 

Ms. Hughes formerly served as Vice President and was on the Board of Directors at the Pacific Research Institute, (PRI), a nationally recognized free-market think tank located in San Francisco. Ms. Hughes provided development support for PRI’s annual signature gala, fundraising, and developed strategies for greater outreach. Pacific Research Institute’s mission is to advance free market policy principles in the areas of business & economics, education, health care and the environment.

She was a George W. Bush Presidential appointee to the Kennedy Center Advisory Arts Board, a White House appointee to the Navy’s Advisory Subcommittee on Naval History, and a trustee for the Computer History Museum.   

Ms. Hughes has been active in politics since 1980.  She was elected to the SF Republican Central committee in 2005 and was the San Francisco GOP chairman from 2007 to 2008.
