ConservAmerica Welcomes New Board Members and Senior Fellow

Washington, DC - ConservAmerica is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members – Neil Chatterjee and Todd Myers - to its Board of Directors. Neil and Todd will be pivotal in supporting the organization’s strategic goals, aiding in coalition-building efforts, and expanding the organization’s reach and impact.

"We are excited to welcome Neil and Todd to our Board,” said ConservAmerica President Jeff Kupfer. “Their expertise, fresh perspectives, and commitment to our mission will make us an even more effective organization. With their broad experience and range of knowledge, we know that they will make many important contributions to ConservAmerica.”

Additionally, ConservAmerica is pleased to welcome former President Rob Sisson back to the team as a Senior Fellow. Rob served as ConservAmerica President from 2011 – 2019, when he was confirmed by the US Senate to the International Joint Commission, a binational organization created by the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909 to prevent or resolve conflict between the US and Canada over shared waters.

“It’s great to have Rob back with the team,” continued Kupfer. “We remain as committed as ever to our mission of promoting conservative values and protecting clean air and water, and having Rob rejoin us in this pursuit only makes us stronger.”

BIOS

Neil Chatterjee is a former Commissioner and Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). While at FERC, Neil championed several strategic initiatives, including streamlining and improving FERC’s liquified natural gas application review and approval process, bolstering power grid reliability and resilience, and boosting renewable resources’ ability to compete in regional power markets and for the reduction of carbon emissions.

Prior to his time at the Commission, Neil served as an advisor to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Neil also has experience working as a principal in government relations for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He began his career as a staff member on the House Committee on Ways and Means.

With more than two decades in environmental policy, Todd Myers’s experience includes work on a range of environmental issues, including climate policy, forest health, old-growth forests, and salmon recovery. A former member of the executive team at the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Council, he currently serves as the Vice-President for Research at the Washington Policy Center, a public policy think tank in Seattle.

Myers’ writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the BBC, National Review, Seattle Times, USA Today, and he has appeared on numerous news networks including CNBC, Fox News, and CNN. He also testified before the Canadian Parliament, provided Congressional briefings, and worked with legislators from several states and provinces.

Robert Sisson has been involved with the environmental organization ConservAmerica since 2006 and served as president from 2011 until 2019. He was appointed by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to the state’s Environmental Justice Working Group in 2017. Mr. Sisson was also involved in the government of the Michigan city of Sturgis, where he served as mayor from 2005-2007 and as a city commissioner from 2003-2008 and again from 2011-2016. Concurrently, he was a member of the boards of directors for both the Sturgis Economic Development Corporation and the St. Joseph County Economic Development Corporation. Most recently he served as US Commissioner to the International Joint Commission, and as US Chair from 2022 – 2023.
