ConservAmerica Applauds Passage of The Great American Outdoors Act
WASHINGTON, DC – ConservAmerica today applauds the final passage of the bipartisan Great American Outdoors Act in the House of Representatives by a 310-107 vote.
The widely supported conservation bill fully and permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and addresses the nearly $20 billion maintenance backlog at our national parks and on other federal lands.
“Today is a great day for all who love the outdoors,” said ConservAmerica President Jeff Kupfer. “The Great American Outdoors Act will increase access to public lands at a time when getting outdoors is more important than ever. And it will have a positive impact in every congressional district in the country. We look forward to President Trump signing this landmark bill into law.”
The Great American Outdoors Act was introduced in the Senate by Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) in March. President Trump has already declared his support.
With America’s outdoor recreation economy supporting over 7.6 million jobs and $887 billion in annual economic output, ConservAmerica supports the bill for both its economic and environmental impact.
