ConservAmerica President Jeff Kupfer issued the following statement today, upon President Joe Biden signing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. The bipartisan bill passed the Senate on August 10 and the House of Representatives on November 5, 2021.
“A lot of hard work went into this infrastructure bill, and we applaud the members of the Roosevelt Conservation Caucus, particularly Sen. Rob Portman, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, whose good faith efforts ensured the final bill combined the best ideas from both sides of the aisle,” Kupfer said. “No piece of legislation is perfect, but the outcome represents smart infrastructure investment that is long overdue and necessary for a 21st century economy. We are pleased the House was finally able to come together to pass the Senate’s bipartisan legislation and, with the President’s signature, the country can begin to implement the provisions within the bill. This will provide a boost to the economy by modernizing our roads, bridges, airports, and waterways, improving our electric grid, and transitioning to a cleaner power sector.”
