Conservatives for the Environment
Here’s an interesting list we found at Things Worse Than Nuclear Power.
I really don’t see how nuclear energy can be viewed as a conservative solution to our energy problems. Does Fukushima ring a bell? I hope you will look at this report that shows how we can reach 100 percent renewable energy by 2050.
Thanks for your comment, Christine. ConservAmerica supports renewable and clean energy. Fukushima was a mistake waiting to happen. In the US, we would not permit siting a nuclear power facility in an area prone to earthquakes, flooding, and other natural disasters. The interesting point of the article we linked to is that nuclear waste is a viable fuel source (ask France, where reprocessing reduces the amount of waste by nearly 90%). We’re confident in American innovation and technology, and we believe Republicans need to be vocal leaders of policy to spur new developments in nuclear, wind, solar, wave, natural gas, oil, etc, that will grapple with greenhouse gases and other issues related to energy production.
